Bond Program Phase 2 - High School & Middle School Improvements

Phase 2 of the Grosse Ile Township Schools Bond Project will deliver a series of strategic renovations across both the High School and the Middle School, enhancing learning environments, supporting emerging programs and modernizing critical infrastructure.

At the High School, the former Library/Media Center will be transformed into a flexible Commons to support a range of student and staff activities. Five existing science labs will be reconfigured into two dedicated hard science labs and three modern science classrooms. Three additional classrooms will be renovated to create new spaces for E-Sports, STEM/Maker activities, and a Fab Lab for both academic and extracurricular use. Upgrades to the gym and varsity locker rooms, refreshed interior finishes, updated food service equipment, and mechanical/electrical improvements will further elevate the building’s functionality and longevity.

At the Middle School, Phase 2 improvements include a fully renovated Commons, new E-Sports, STEM/Maker, and Robotics learning spaces, and an updated teacher’s lounge, cafeteria, and locker rooms. Select areas throughout the building will receive interior finish enhancements, along with new food service equipment and mechanical/electrical upgrades to support long-term operational efficiency.
