Project
Following a feasibility study for the student wellness, recreation and athletic facility, Gannon University upgraded the building to accommodate students, athletes, faculty, staff alumni and community members. The Collaborative led the study and the 85,777 SF addition and 19,900 SF renovation.
The facility received a new 80-yard indoor synthetic turf field house addition for athletics and intramural use. An expanded rec addition and entry provide additional cardio space for general use, multi-purpose rooms, free weights, food service area, lounges and meeting rooms. Spaces for socialization encourage students to hang out before and after workouts, supporting a mind-body balance.
As part of the second phase, Gannon plans to upgrade to a 30-meter pool, allowing expanded team practice and competitive areas, along with recreational use. Renovations to the athletic offices and meeting spaces will also be included.
