Project
The Collaborative and Saint Mary’s College, an all-women’s college, teamed to develop a 105,000 SF new and renovated building to include a performance gym, multi-purpose field house, game-day lobby, cafe, rest room facilities, suspended running track, athletic training suite, fitness studio, weight studio, coaches offices, locker facilities, a Health and Counseling Center including Belles Against Violence office and support spaces.
Locker facilities are provided for student, faculty, and staff recreation; coaches and officials; visitors; and varsity basketball, volleyball, golf, soccer, lacrosse, softball, tennis, cross country, and track.
Outdoor fields were completed as an early phase and include soccer, lacrosse, and softball. A future expansion will include a competition track with throwing events. An outbuilding provides storage, rest rooms, concessions and a satellite training room.
Supporting campus continuity, the new Angela building entrance and the new gateway at the outdoor athletic fields align with the bell tower at LeMans Hall, the iconic campus landmark. This strengthens the connection between the new athletic fields and the campus core, including the popular quad, Library Green.
