Project

Taylor Tower, originally constructed in 1965, is a 13-story residence hall located on The Ohio State University’s main campus.

As part of this renovation, Taylor Tower will now meet ADA requirements by creating a new ground level entrance into an newly expanded lobby off of a southern residential quad. The expanded lobby will allow access to a new office suite that houses all of the University’s Residence Life Administration as well as newly renovated open lounge spaces for students. Existing resident rooms will be converted into the administrative office suite. Existing student lounge zones will be reconfigured to allow for a greater variety of spaces that will accommodate the current needs of today’s student. The design calls for openness between floors and maximizing the amount of views to the exterior for both the students and administrators.

Through space planning exercises with the Core OSU Team, The Collaborative will be able to provide the needs of both the students and the administrators that will share these levels within Taylor Tower.
