Project
Located on a dense urban infill site near OSU’s academic core, the 182,000sf Residence on Tenth provides housing for 539 undergraduate students. The project establishes a strong residential identity while complementing the diverse scale of its surroundings.
Exterior materials—brick, limestone, and glass curtainwall—link the residence to its context while projecting openness and transparency. Individual grade-level entries maintain the rhythm of the street, and shaded curtainwall systems on the upper levels maximize daylight while controlling heat gain.
Community-building informed the organization of the interiors. Wide corridors, multiple floor connections, and dispersed collaboration zones create opportunities for spontaneous interaction, ensuring that the residence functions as both a living space and a catalyst for student community.
