Project

Located in the heart of Downtown Toledo, the new Glass City Center provides more than 100,000 SF of conference and pre-function space. Originally built in 1987, this addition and renovation is the result of various studies with multiple user groups. Key goals of the project include:

  • A ballroom (seating between 1,000 – 1,200) located in the area of the existing parking garage entry on Summit Street
  • New plazas and streetscape along Summit Street with lay-by lanes for hotels
  • Support spaces including storage rooms, additional restrooms, service corridors, etc.
  • Prefunction spaces
  • A service area with loading dock, dumpster, etc.
  • Relocation of the parking garage entry to Monroe Street
  • Renovations of public areas
  • Renovations to meeting spaces
  • Renovations to Expo Halls
  • Relocation of the security office

This project involves extensive cooperation and coordination between The Collaborative and the adjacent Hotel renovation design / construction team, as the two took place simultaneously.
