Project
Heidelberg University tasked The Collaborative with updating its historical residence hall with modern amenities while maintaining its character.
Two additions make room for faculty apartments, along with an elevator tower. A covered colonnade facing the patio provides space for informal gathering and programs. A multi-function Great Hall serves as a gaming and study lounge or formal banquet space.
An aspirational learning-living environment, the new France Hall enhances the quality of life at Heidelberg University with synergy amongst a variety of programs.
An addition provides an apartment for instructors, facilitating informal interaction with faculty members. An attic renovation offers a collaborative home for the Literary Societies, drawing people into the building and activating the space as an academic, thought-driven atmosphere. The Entrepreneurial Incubator space sets the stage for serendipitous encounters amongst students and members of the business community.
