Project
Built in 1976, The Center for Performing Arts is home to the Department of Music and the Department of Theater and Film, and had not had a significant interior renovation since it was constructed.
The project included refurbishing the 270 seat Recital Hall and constructing additional practice space for the chorus, orchestra and band. It includes an expansion of the digital video lab, the digital piano lab, and the music department computer room. The project also includes the renovation of the Lab Theatre and Studio Theatre, as well as enhancing the Theatre lobby area.
The renovations was phased, with key performance and rehearsal spaces completed during the summer months. The first phase included a new addition, completed during the spring semester. This provided swing space as other areas were vacated for the second phase.
